Welcome to our official feedback forum. Do you have an idea? Do you recognize a good idea when you see one? We want to hear from you!

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  1. Search Engine Friendly URLs

It seems that PageLime does not work well with search engine friendly URLs because it cannot determine what file it is editing. Why not add support for a META tag which tells PageLime what file the URL represents?

    For example, www.mywebsite.com/my-friendly-url/ would include this tag: <meta name="pagelime-file-path" contents="my-folder/my-page.php" />.

It would be very easy to write code that generates that meta tag on the server side whenever a URL is requested through PageLime.

    • Manage Images - Folders

When you create folders in the Manage Images section, and then you click on a folder, it doesn' t say anywhere on the screen which folder you're in. If you have a lot of folders, that could be confusing. Also, the image folder list on the left should show subfolders, maybe with a +/- option to display subfolders or not.

We’re working on an overhaul of the image gallery. It’ll be 100% more awesome… this is definitely something we’ll keep in mind.

      • To improve and add more features to the "embeddable media" elements

At the moment I am unable to preview any embeddable media elements. I am forced to click around until I finally find the element. Also % width and height don't seem to work for some of them.

        • Provide Documentation?

From the date of other comments, 2009 for example, one would think there would be documentation by now, not just a "we are working on it" message.

Must be too busy with customer support...

          • Add a method to use Font Awesome especially in Headers

At present, cannot figure out how to include editable font awesome icon in headers on a clients site. Have tried a few methods, but Pagelime rewrites and the icons disappear. I'm using Rapidweaver with Joe Workman's Pagelime stacks

            • Have multiple menus in Navigation Manager

I don't know of many websites that utilize only one menu. Most sites that have a main header menu also have subpage menus (often found on the left side of the screen). The navigation manager should be able to handle these menus as the information is already placed in the main header.

Using CSS and php includes you can build one nav menu, and have the active menu item’s sub menu pushed into the sidebar. This will give you the ability to have 2 menu’s visually.

              • Maintenance mode

Is it possible to put a website in maintenance mode? So the user can't modify the page?

We don't want to risk making changes to a website while a client of ours is working on the website.

This is certainly important when we make major changes to a website (change layout, etc), not minor changes (eg content changes with pagelime). And this is where a maintenance mode would come in handy.

                • Tie multiple site into one resold account

This will let a client pay once for the reseller service for their multiple sites.

Ex. Client A has three sites controlled via Pagelime. That client is not going to pay three times for the service. Tie that clients three sites under the one resold account.

                  • Allow PageLime To Load in an iFrame

It would be kick-awesome if you could load PageLime into an iFrame embedded inside your own web app. If you try to run PageLime in an iFrame, it doesn't work correctly. I suspect this is because loading the page in an iFrame changes the DOM hierarchy and the javascript gets cranky.

Adding this capability would solve lots of issues regarding private labeling PageLime. It would allow agencies to us ePageLime as a CMS solution that integrates with their client intranet. It would also open up the possibility to easily integrate PageLime with other commercial web apps.

                    • Allow selecting images

Most sites start off with most of their images on the server, not in the pagelime gallery. When adding or editing images, you should be able to select images from the server. Likewise, when creating or editing a link, you should be able to choose a file from the server (like a non-pagelime page, or a PDF file, etc.). Thanks!

                      • Add a way to build an ecommerce store

I have many clients who want to be able to see on their website. Having something that could build a store and manage products that was easily integrable with popular merchant accounts would be great!

                        • integrate with Wufoo or Formstack for forms. They have open API's

No reason to reinvent the wheel with Pagelime creating their own form system. Why not use two of the most popular and robust form builders; both of which are well integrated across dozens of other cloud applications. Check out http://thesmallbusinessweb.com to see a huge number of cloud apps that use each others APIs to provide a high-level of integration between them. PageLime should get on board this train.

                          • Add "Help" buttons/tooltips to the admin area.

PageLime is pretty user-friendly, but the first time you cruise through the admin area (as an Administrator or client) there's a certain amount of guess-and-check. Adding buttons that offer contextual help would be great. An explanation of the different user permissions, for example.

                            • Restrict the option to delete pages/folders to specific users or only administrators

Seems quite easy to do this! Would suggest that a restriction to administrators, or by default it would be turned off for normal users , and then have the ability to enable it.

This would result in fewer accidents and protect against malicious actions.

This doesn’t actually delete pages. This simply removes them from the sitemap page. They can be added back in by browsing to the page again.

                                • BUs/Prof- Allow potential client to test service with demo acct. Auto refresh demo page xx time.

If potential clients played with the demo, they would have an immediate feel and understanding of the process without hurting any production data. Potentially, more customers for bus/prof folks. Just be able to automatically refresh updated page every xx minutes. Probably a good idea to allow pages to be updated immediate or timed or by date?

                                    • Create a Support Ticket system for paid users.

While I love the service. Support is quite difficult via email. It is delayed and seems to be bouncing between the two of you. If you had a ticket system (for paid users only) it would allow you to keep track of support requests and fulfill them more efficiently.

                                        • Code snippets / custom elements for clients to choose from

It would be great if I could create a repository of code snippits that a client could choose from when making changes to their site. Say they wanted a new block I specially designed they could insert it if it was a code snippit I uploaded.

I could imagine the client never needing to actually see the code though... they would more like a custom element that could be loaded.
