Welcome to our official feedback forum. Do you have an idea? Do you recognize a good idea when you see one? We want to hear from you!

I suggest you ...

You've used all your votes and won't be able to post a new idea, but you can still search and comment on existing ideas.

There are two ways to get more votes:

  • When an admin closes an idea you've voted on, you'll get your votes back from that idea.
  • You can remove your votes from an open idea you support.
  • To see ideas you have already voted on, select the "My feedback" filter and select "My open ideas".

Enter your idea and we'll search to see if someone has already suggested it.

If a similar idea already exists, you can support and comment on it.

If it doesn't exist, you can post your idea so others can support it.

  1. new page file extension

If you add a new page based on a template, the user can enter a file extension that might not on the server.

For example, I created a sample template aspx page that calls a masterpage.

When I created a new page, I entered test.html as the filename. The dialog box automatically appended .aspx (making it test.html.aspx) however, when I go to edit the page, the page is saved as a .html page, not a .aspx page - so none of the server side code appears.

Solution - the file extension should be a readonly attrribute so the user can…

... and if this is not an option for you, bring the option to the first page. Security should be always first.

      • Add the ability to change a page's template

Currently we only have the option of creating a new page from a template. If there are a couple of versions of say, a homepage it would be helpful for the client to be able to change the template of the page and save as a draft, ready for publishing.

If I am right in thinking, the only way to do so at present is to create a new page from template, delete old page and rename.

I doubt this would be too much of a deviation from the "add page from template" feature.

        • Try to get Serif onboard

There is a lot of talk on the Serif Forums (forums.serif.com) looking for CMSs to work with Serif WebPlus. PageLime is the current one being talked about.
The only problem with PageLime is that when you republish the site, any pagelime edits have to be redone (WebPlus overwrites the changes). Talk to Serif and if you can come up with a good solution together, a lot of Serif customers are likely to come your way...

This could work with our FTP-XML feature. RapidWeaver users already have support for this, so we’d just have to connect with the Serif folks to get this integrated.

          • Custom login screens that allow us to use the "forgot password" option.

Right now I can create custom login screens for my clients to use, but I am not able to have the "forgot password" option unless I forward them to the pagelime cms login screen. If we could have that ability available for our custom login screens, this would be really great.

            Thanks!

            • Brand interface with client logo as well

I'd like there to be at least two places in the interface where I can upload a logo, that way, when a client logs in to edit their site, they can see in one area, my logo, and in another part of the interface, they can see their own company logo. I think this really enhances the idea that the client is using unique, custom software, and makes it look like we the web designers, went the extra mile. An example of this is Basecamp.

You can do some of this with the business account already.

You can have a login screen with your logo and a custom color/scheme + logo for each client.

I’ll bring this up at the next product meeting to see if we want to polish this up.

The site can read css files from the one css file - how about page specific ones?!

                    • Dreamweaver Plugin for PageLime Code insertion

I would like to see a Dreamweaver Plugin for code insertion much like the now defunct inContext tool built into DW CS4. This tool did check code insertion for accuracy and was pretty much foolproof.

John! We want it too! But dreamweaver plugin development is really hard and we have no idea how to do it. We’ve tried to find freelancers who can do it all over the place, but so far no luck.

It’s on our radar, and if you know someone who can do it – send ’em over!

                        • use the Site Name instead of the site URL in the Switch Sites dropdown feature

As I start to build up a library of sites, I've noticed that the Switch Site dropdown feature in the top navigation does not use the "Site Name". I would make things easier for some folks who use that name as a quick reference for the different sites they manage.

                            • make PL work on a page that is set to appear in an iFrame that forces the parent page to load.

Surreal can't do this at the moment, either, so you could steal a march on the competition if you could make it work. PL is no use to me otherwise as making changes via PL messes with other elements on my page using jQuery and stops them from working. Shame!

                                      • Allow Groups (Either User Groups or Site Groups)

Either way round the outcome is to allow easier administration of sites.

Imagine you have a large number of users across different companies or business units. When a new site is created each person in the company/business unit may need to be given access - time consuming.

                                        Solution 1: User Groups
The group could be given permission to edit the new site.

                                        Solution 2: Site Groups
If the users already had access to a group of sites then any new site added to the group would automatically be available to all the users.

                                        • Editing white styled nodes results in an white on white textfield

When you editing a cms-editable node on you´re site and this node is white, the editor shows you a white textfield with white text in it. I really hate WYSIWYG editors (because they mostly dont work), so any chance to have pure text on default?
